Polmlek, Poland’s dairy group, has started producing new ESL as well as aseptic low-acid dairy products along with desserts in spouted pouches by way of using an advanced aseptic filling line from IMA Fillshape.

It is worth noting that the spouted pouch market continues to consistently expand at a rapid pace as consumers go on to embrace convenient and lightweight formats and the manufacturers benefit from decreased storage as well as logistics costs.

Apparently, for its latest range of dairy and dessert innovations, Polmlek went ahead and sought a modern packaging solution in advanced aseptic filling line that could very well support both extended shelf-life – ESL as well as completely aseptic filling in terms of ambient distribution.

Apparently, IMA Fillshape went ahead and supplied the Ermetika Aseptic EAS240, which is a continuous-motion rotary filler that is capable of producing 240 pouches per minute. The system goes on to function with pre-made pouches and spouts as well as caps and is also designed for both high-acid and low-acid applications. Spouted pouches get assembled on the welding carousel and are sterilized internally and externally by way of using VHP – Vaporised Hydrogen Peroxide. Caps are also VHP-sterilized and applied within the sterile isolator.

The advanced aseptic filling line goes on to include dedicated skids when it comes to VHP preparation and also CIP/COP and SIP/SOP sanitation cycles, thereby supporting stringent hygiene needs for aseptic processing.

The new product range from Polmlek, including the Homogenized Cheese Strawberry, Nut & Chocolate Milk Dessert, Polmlek Prebiotic Strawberry, and also LUX Strawberry Dessert, is processed on the EAS240. The line helps with the production of ESL refrigerated products having a shelf life of almost 60 days or completely aseptic products with 6–12 months of ambient stability.

Notably, the practical pouch format goes on to support strong consumption channels like offices, cafés, fast-food outlets, hotels, and travel catering, as well as on-the-go use.

As per the Vice President of Mazowiecka Spółka Mleczarska, Monika Białobrzewska, they are very satisfied because of this state-of-the-art pouch machine, as the new aseptic line is a great landmark for Polmlek. Being the first aseptic rotary spouted pouch filler based out of Poland, it gives them a clear technological edge so as to introduce new ESL as well as aseptic dairy products along with desserts.

When we talk of the Polmlek Group, it is the largest privately owned dairy company in Poland, which operates 15 production sites having more than 5,000 employees. The company blends the long-standing dairy traditions along with innovation, advanced technology, and global market expansion.
