US-based packaging and food service products maker Novolex has rolled out Power Prep wrap for grab-and-go hot sandwiches and other freshly made foods.
Developed by Novolex brand Bagcraft, the new wrap is designed to keep food tasting fresh as it moves from the freezer to thawing and reheating.
Novolex said the packaging is laminated and insulated to enable customers to taste the sandwich made and wrapped off-site.
The multi-layered wrap is claimed to be more puncture-resistant than foil or foil/paper structure.
It uses non-fluorinated oil-and-grease-resistant paper which is laminated to a liner leveraging a honeycomb pattern to make an insulated layer.
The packaging firm has designed the lamination with anti-curling capabilities to enable flat sheeting, saving time and boosting efficiency when the food products are wrapped and assembled at scale.
Novolex said that the wrap can be custom printed to add branding and promotional messages.
Power Prep wrap is said to be suitable for supermarkets, convenience stores and other food service operators. It will also help meet the increasing demand for freshly made offerings.

Available as cut sheets in different sizes or as a roll, the Power Prep wrap safeguards food and performs in many temperature requirements.
The wrap is the new addition to the line of packaging solutions from Novolex.
