Truvant has acquired New Jersey-based contract packaging company Multi-Pak Packaging for an undisclosed sum, adding the business and its West Caldwell manufacturing site to Truvantโ€™s existing network. The transaction expands Truvantโ€™s presence across contract packaging for vitamins, minerals and supplements, over-the-counter solid dose products and consumer health items, while also adding capabilities in beauty, personal care and medical device packaging. Truvant operates six campuses across North America and Europe, and the acquisition adds another manufacturing location to its network.

Multi-Pak provides both primary and secondary packaging formats and operates more than 180,000ftยฒ of packaging space in West Caldwell, New Jersey. Its operations include annual bottling capacity of over 250 million bottles and blister packaging capacity of more than 500 million blisters for tablets, caplets and softgels. The company also provides pouching and sachet services and operates a probiotics centre with cold chain handling. In medical device packaging, Multi-Pak packages Class 1 medical devices, while its broader portfolio covers beauty and personal care products. Its secondary services include cartoning, kitting, display assembly, sourcing, procurement and warehousing. The Multi-Pak Deal therefore adds a broad range of packaging capabilities to Truvantโ€™s manufacturing network.

Truvant CEO Stew Atkinson said: “Multi-Pak strengthens our capabilities in attractive, high-growth end markets while expanding the value we deliver to customers.

“Just as importantly, their customer-first culture and operational expertise make them an excellent fit for Truvant. Together, we are even better positioned to support leading consumer brands with meaningful innovation, broader capabilities, greater scale and superior operational excellence.”

Multi-Pak was founded in 2005 by John and Debbie Culligan and will continue operating from its West Cadwell facility as part of Truvant. Multi-Pak founder John Culligan said: “Joining Truvant is an exciting step for our team and our customers.

“We built this business on quality, close customer relationships and a culture we are proud of, and we found the same priorities at Truvant. Becoming part of a larger global network gives us the scale to serve our customers better and creates new opportunities for our employees while expanding the capabilities and resources available to our customers.” The Multi-Pak Deal brings the companyโ€™s packaging operations into Truvant while retaining the existing facility.
