UFP Industries has announced the acquisition of operating assets from three John Rock locations situated in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, and Bowling Green, Virginia for approximately $48 million. The deal brings nearly 250 employees into UFP’s organization and adds approximately $82 million in annual sales to its operations.

John Rock, a subsidiary of Kamps Pallets, designs and manufactures new pallets across Pennsylvania and Virginia. Of the four John Rock locations, a sawmill in Dilwyn, Virginia, will remain with the seller and was not part of this transaction.

Filling a Geographic Gap in PalletOne’s Network

The UFP Industries acquisition directly addresses a key geographic gap in PalletOne’s presence, strengthening UFP Packaging’s ability to serve national customers with a northeast footprint the company had previously lacked. PalletOne is one of the core businesses within UFP Industries, which operates across packaging and industrial markets through an extensive manufacturing and distribution network.

The three acquired locations integrate immediately into PalletOne’s existing manufacturing network, enabling service continuity from day one while laying the groundwork for operational improvement and long-term growth.

UFP Industries CEO Will Schwartz spoke directly to the rationale behind the deal: “This acquisition is fundamentally about strengthening our core packaging business and expanding our footprint in a region where we see long-term opportunity. John Rock has built a well-established pallet manufacturing operation with strong customer relationships and experienced teams.”

Strategic Value in the Northeast Pallet Manufacturing Market

The northeast pallet manufacturing market holds strategic importance for UFP Industries as it works to serve national customers with consistent quality and logistics support across multiple regions. John Rock’s established customer base and experienced workforce across the Coatesville, Mifflintown, and Bowling Green locations provide UFP with both an immediate revenue contribution and a platform to apply its procurement and operational capabilities in generating synergies over time.

UFP Packaging President Scott Worthington expressed enthusiasm about welcoming John Rock’s employees into the PalletOne family and confidence in building further on the strong foundation the acquired business has already established.

Expanding Manufacturing Capacity and Competitive Strength

This UFP Industries acquisition reflects the company’s continued commitment to investing in its core businesses, growing manufacturing capacity in key markets, and reinforcing the competitive standing of its operating companies. The geographic expansion into the northeast comes as demand from national distribution and e-commerce customers continues to grow in the region, making the pallet manufacturing presence in Pennsylvania and Virginia increasingly valuable to UFP’s broader service capabilities.

The addition of John Rock’s three locations positions PalletOne to better respond to that demand while offering its national customer base broader, more consistent coverage across the eastern United States.
