UNITED CAPS announced that it will showcase its new 26 FLIP-ON closure during Interpack 2026 at Hall 10 / D67 in Düsseldorf. The company said the solution was created to address common usability issues associated with edible oil containers, particularly in markets where packaging decisions are heavily influenced by cost considerations. According to the company, consumers and production operators often encounter problems such as difficult opening, limited grip and unwanted contact with the product while pouring. The new closure was designed to improve handling without increasing operational complexity or adding cost burdens for manufacturers working in Oil Packaging applications.
The 26 FLIP-ON has been engineered to integrate into existing filling lines through a plug’n play approach, allowing manufacturers to continue operations without major production line modifications. UNITED CAPS stated that the flip-top structure supports easier opening and pouring while helping reduce direct product contact during use. The closure weighs 1.0 g, a specification the company said contributes to material savings and supports efforts aimed at lowering overall carbon footprint levels. The company added that the design aligns with emerging PPWR requirements and may contribute to EPR fee reductions of up to 18%, depending on local market conditions.
UNITED CAPS also noted that the closure incorporates an attached tamper-evident system intended to support both current and upcoming regulatory requirements. The design further helps prevent users’ fingers from coming into contact with the bottle neck during opening and pouring. The product will be presented alongside the UNITED CAPS BETTER LAB initiative, where visitors can pre-book sessions with company specialists to discuss operational challenges and practical approaches related to Oil Packaging requirements.
“Cost efficiency remains critical in oil packaging, but usability is often overlooked,” said Benoît Henckes, CEO of UNITED CAPS. “With 26 FLIP-ON, we focused on solving real handling issues that occur every day, without changing the production environment our customers rely on.”
Visitors attending the exhibition will also be able to pre-book dedicated sessions through the BETTER LAB platform to discuss application-specific and operational requirements with UNITED CAPS experts.
