Amcor, a global leader in packaging innovation, is supplying its Secure Flip 26mm tamper-evident sports closure for a popular range of children’s drinks in Austria. The move is designed to increase Yippy drink recyclability. 

Since its launch in 2003, RAUCH Yippy has established a reputation for providing children’s beverages fortified with calcium and vitamins, without the addition of preservatives. At the core of its popularity has been the child-orientated packaging—vibrantly coloured PET bottles and sports closures.

With the integration of Amcor’s Secure Flip cap, the brand has taken a further step toward sustainability. The tethered cap remains affixed to the bottle post-opening, enabling both components to be collected together where recycling infrastructure exists. In addition, the non-detachable tamper-evident band—designed to visually confirm the integrity of the product—stays attached within the closure after use, reducing the chance of litter and aiding full-pack recyclability.

“The right packaging has been a critical part of Yippy’s success,” said Gudrun Golob, international brand manager of Rauch Yippy. “With the adoption of the Amcor closure, we are ensuring that children continue to get the best enjoyment from the drink, and at the same time are able more easily to recycle the entire pack, an important benefit for increasingly environmentally conscious youngsters and their parents.”

The Secure Flip’s patented non-detachable band was among the earliest alternatives to traditional detachable designs. Engineered for convenience, the sports closure includes a Thumb Tab for simple, one-handed use. A clip sound signals successful opening or closure, and the lid locks open at 180°, ensuring unhindered access to the spout—delivering both ergonomic comfort and an engaging drinking experience.

“Safe, comfortable on-the-go consumption is a key part of many drinks brands’ offerings, and it’s important that this can deliver a premium consumer experience,” said Matthias Hammersen, vice president of sales, Rigid Packaging Solutions International at Amcor. “Our Secure Flip closure was therefore specifically developed to combine aesthetics with functionality and convenience, and these benefits also help to enhance the pack’s overall sustainability offering.”
