ProAmpac, the global leader in flexible packaging and material science, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire PAC Worldwide (“PAC”), a flexible packaging solutions provider. The terms of the deal have not been released.

The move by ProAmpac to acquire PAC Worldwide is a strategic one that places it in a position to provide a fully integrated packaging solution. The unified operations will cover the entire spectrum of packaging, from material manufacturing and recycled paper mills to film, converting, and major customer support services. This merger will significantly increase its geographic presence and strengthen vertical integration into sectors such as e-commerce, consumer packaged goods, and markets. Customers can expect enhanced access to advanced technologies in blown film, recycled paper, lamination, printing, and converting, in addition to secure and sustainable paper-based packaging solutions. With material science expertise, the two companies are well positioned to help their clients achieve ambitious sustainability objectives, comply with evolving Extended Producer Responsibility requirements, and adopt next-generation packaging innovations.

“This is a transformational moment for our companies. By combining ProAmpac and PAC, we are creating unmatched packaging capabilities that deliver greater flexibility, sustainability, and innovation. Together, we can accelerate material science advancements and deliver solutions that help our customers achieve their most ambitious goals,” stated Greg Tucker, ProAmpac founder, vice chairman, and chief executive officer.

“Partnering with ProAmpac will help us scale faster and deliver even more value. Together, we’ll meet growing global demand for innovative and sustainable packaging,” added Jim Boshaw, PAC’s chief executive officer.

“At ProAmpac, our people and values are at the heart of everything we do,” said Sachin Desai, president and chief operating officer of ProAmpac. “By welcoming PAC’s talented team, we’re strengthening our culture of innovation, integrity, and customer partnership. Together, we will empower our employees and deliver exceptional value to customers worldwide.”

Based in Redmond, Washington, PAC Worldwide has emerged as a worldwide leader in flexible packaging solutions. The organization focuses on protective mailers and specialty packaging for e-commerce, courier, and retail use, producing products such as polyethylene, paper, and bubble-lined packaging. With over 1,300 employees, PAC has seven manufacturing plants in the U.S., Mexico, and Malaysia. Its global manufacturing footprint will bring considerable capacity and reach to ProAmpac’s operations, with a solid presence in the Pacific Northwest.

The transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the coming weeks.
