Aptar Beauty has partnered with Clarins to unveil the newest reloadable version of the brand’s top-selling eye cream, Total Eye Lift. This global launch introduces Aptar Beauty’s patented Gaïa airless packaging for the first time. The system is specifically engineered to meet Clarins’ dual objectives of sustainability and high-performance aesthetics, delivering a premium user experience without compromise.
The Gaïa platform is a distinctive addition to Aptar Beauty’s dispensing solutions. It combines a sturdy metal casing with highly recyclable* PP (Polypropylene) and PE (Polyethylene) plastic reloads. The reloads fit securely onto the main casing because of the bi-injected collar gasket that limits air intake. They can also be sold separately. Each piece is designed to work only within the system, making it simple and safe for consumers. At the core, the platform uses standard technical components, while the external parts like the actuator and overshell can be fully customized to suit a brand’s design needs.
The Gaïa system comes with two patented features. The push-and-pull reload mechanism, modeled on a ballpoint pen, glides along its axis, making it simple and effortless to use. At the same time, the Double Tamper Seal provides two levels of protection, keeping the formula airtight and shielding it from contamination. The first seal is peeled off the reload, and the second is broken when it is inserted into the casing, keeping the product secure at every step.
With the Aptar and Clarins partnership, Clarins becomes the first brand to use the Gaïa platform, tailoring it to meet their product specifications. The company says the refillable design cuts environmental impact by 73%, with each new recyclable reload using 50% less metal, 33% less plastic, and 29% less cardboard than the previous Total Eye Lift packaging. The 15ml eye cream delivers a precise 150 µl dose, ideal for targeted application, while the elegant red metal overshell, developed exclusively for Clarins, conceals the technical elements, allowing the minimalist reloads to complement the overall design seamlessly.
Florence Muh, Customer Support & Development Director at Aptar Beauty EMEA, said, “We are proud to support Clarins with the first market launch with Gaïa. It is a true innovation designed for brand differentiation that puts the customer experience first.”
This launch also highlights Aptar Beauty’s ability to leverage its global manufacturing expertise.Charleval Verneuil takes charge of producing the airless technology, Le Neubourg manages the pump cartridge, and Chavanod oversees the custom assembly, with extra support from BTY. Working together this way ensures that production stays high-quality, logistics run smoothly, and every component is consistent. By bringing together technical innovation, user-focused design, and refillable engineering, the Total Eye Lift launch by Aptar and Clarins raises the bar for sustainable luxury in the beauty industry.
