Benefit Cosmetics has teamed up with Lumson to launch the new POREfessional Smoothing and Blurring Matte Foundation, presenting it in a packaging concept that blends aesthetics, practicality and brand character. The result is a standout container designed to highlight the formula inside it. The POREfessional Smoothing and Blurring Matte Foundation marks the latest non-comedogenic foundation from Benefit Cosmetics, the company created in 1976 by Jean and Joane Ford and now part of the LVMH group. Developed to reduce the appearance of dilated pores, refine skin texture and prevent caking or smudging, this transfer-proof product is offered in 40 shades and aims to maintain breathability while delivering a polished, long-lasting finish. Its formulation features rosehip extract and glycerine, with added niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to support pore refinement and overall complexion improvement, offering hydration and a gradual boost in visible skin quality.
The foundation’s rapid rise across social channels carries a distinct Italian element: Lumson, established in 1975 and known internationally for its cosmetic and make-up packaging, produced both the bottle and the pump for the POREfessional foundation packaging . For the POREfessional foundation packaging, Benefit selected the 30ml Unique frosted bottle with a full rounded base and 20/400 neck, paired with the AB226 pump fitted with a PEARL 175 actuator in white. This configuration is meant to ensure controlled, precise dispensing.
The bottle’s silhouette, soft curves, smooth lines and a tactile finish, has been designed for recognisability and comfort in hand. UV screen printing in white and fuchsia introduces a bold, premium element aligned with Benefit’s playful yet approachable visual language. Decorative choices reflect the brand’s iconography, referencing the POREfessional line’s aim to smooth pores and minimise perceived imperfections, while the dynamic lettering reinforces the range’s “fun yet professional” identity.
Benefit Cosmetics’ choice sits within a broader Lumson portfolio dedicated to make-up packaging. The Italian supplier’s collection spans 45 glass bottles and 7 glass jars ranging from 5 to 40 ml across three core designs:
- Round shapes offering traditional cylindrical lines suitable for diverse formulas;
- Square options that convey refined, architectural styling;
- Special formats defined by distinctive silhouettes, including soft contours and elliptical profiles for products requiring strong visual personality.
Complementary components such as lipsticks, lip glosses and tottles round out the assortment and support the varying needs of the make-up sector.
