Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, has introduced its simple, hygienic Exclusive stick as the ideal refill option for French natural hair care expert Cut by Fred’s Detox Stick Shampoo. The company was also able to supply smaller volumes required for this specialist product.
By keeping materials in use for longer, refillable packaging supports a circular approach to sustainability. Cut By Fred’s original refill, however, was tricky for consumers: they had to melt the refill in a microwave, move it into the container manually, and then put it in the fridge to solidify. This long and complex process was hurting refill sales.
Amcor’s Exclusive stick makes it much easier. The refill slips straight into the original pack, which keeps contact with the product to a minimum and reduces the chance of contamination. The stick’s precision parts make it simple to use and ensure the shampoo is applied accurately, without ever having to touch it.
At the same time, the stick meets Cut By Fred’s sustainability goals.While the original 75 ml container weighs 55 g, each refill weighs only 18 g, resulting in considerable material savings. Customers also benefit from a cost reduction when purchasing the refill. Both the stick and refill are made entirely from polypropylene, a mono-material design that supports recycling where local facilities exist.
