The global packaging producer Amcor has successfully secured RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification for specific grades of its Bontite Sustane stretch film. These blown linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) solutions are primarily utilized to secure and stabilize palletized goods during transportation. By obtaining this certification, the company ensures that the recycled materials used in its products are independently audited and fully traceable through the production cycle, meeting rigorous European standards.

Advancing Recycled Plastics Traceability in Industrial Packaging

The certification of this RecyClass Certified Stretch Film is a strategic move to assist customers in navigating upcoming regulatory shifts. Specifically, the industry is preparing for updates to the UK Plastics Packaging Tax scheduled for April 2027. Under the revised guidelines, pre-consumer recycled content will no longer be counted toward the 30% threshold; instead, only PCR Content will qualify for compliance. This transition highlights the growing demand for Sustainable Packaging Solutions that offer verified environmental credentials.

The Bontite films are manufactured at specialized facilities in Leominster, UK, and Zele, Belgium. These Pallet Wrapping Films are engineered to combine the high puncture resistance and holding force of blown film with the visual clarity typically associated with cast film. Such technical attributes are essential for clients in the beverage, retail, and manufacturing sectors, where maintaining operational efficiency and product protection is a priority.

Compliance with UK Plastics Packaging Tax Standards

The firmโ€™s sales director, Gabriele Ditsch, noted that this certification strengthens customer confidence, ensuring that packaging choices align with evolving regulations. Ditsch stated that the certified Bontite Sustane films provide independent assurance of recycled content claims and reinforce the ability to scale verified PCR Content solutions across industrial and secondary packaging markets. This RecyClass Certified Stretch Film represents a broader effort to provide reliable Recycled Plastics Traceability across the supply chain.

In addition to the Bontite range, RecyClass certification has been confirmed for a variety of flexible packaging products manufactured at sites across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland. This includes the NorDiVent ventilated form-fill-seal films, which are commonly used for powdered construction materials, chemicals, and minerals. As the UK Plastics Packaging Tax approaches its 2027 milestone, the availability of certified Pallet Wrapping Films provides a clear pathway for businesses seeking high-performance Sustainable Packaging Solutions that meet strict legal requirements.
