LMI Technologies (LMI), manufacturer of 3D scanning and inspection solutions, has announced the company has started packaging and shipping its products using 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials which completely eliminates single-use, plastic-based foams and all other plastic materials from product packaging. Deployment of the new Eco-Smart packaging is now underway, and the company expects to have transitioned the vast majority of its products to the new boxes by early 2023.

“At LMI Technologies, we are fully committed to supporting environmental wellness for present and future generations. Our products have always been manufactured to help customers reduce waste, increase yields, and improve product quality, which in turn support the improved utilization of resources and greater sustainability. We are also continuously looking for new ways to minimize our impact on the planet, and are therefore very excited to announce the transition to our new Eco-Smart product packaging”, said Mark Radford, CEO, LMI Technologies.

Digital Quick Start Guides

In addition, the new eco-smart packaging has a printed QR code on the exterior of the box that links to a webpage containing all available product Quick Start Guides (QSG). When a new LMI product is received, customers can simply scan the QR code on the box using their mobile device, browse through the available QSGs on the dedicated webpage, and download the PDF version that corresponds to their product.

The new digital QSG format replaces the printed version previously included in LMI product packages. This change is another step in LMI’s continued effort to eliminate waste and optimize efficiency in every aspect of its product packaging and shipping process.
