Creating more customer opportunities for more labeling applications, Mactac Performance Adhesives Group has announced the expansion of its LAS laser products.

โ€œFor many years, our LAS facestocks have been proven winners among Mactac customers,โ€ says Allie Braham, senior marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. โ€œThey have an excellent reputation for performance, appearance and printing, which has encouraged an increase in customer requests for more LAS solutions with some of our customer-favorite adhesive and liner options.โ€

Featuring a bright, white facestock, LAS products are known for their excellent layflat characteristics, compatibility with a variety of adhesives and universal printing capabilities for print methods such as laser, inkjet and copier printers.

They are often used in industrial labeling applications, such as barcode shipping, product identification, inventory labels, work-in-process labels, asset tracking and medical records. Additionally, they are used in small or home office labeling applications for address labels, file folder labels, crafts and homemade food packaging.

In addition to Mactacโ€™s current LAS portfolio, LAS facestocks are now available with Mactacโ€™s ST95 adhesive, 640AT adhesive and MP910 adhesive accompanied by a 40# liner. New LAS product line solutions include:

  • MACcopy Standard (LAS9512): A standard-weight 50# bright white flexible facestock with a permanent acrylic emulsion adhesive (ST95) that features aggressive initial tack and good adhesion to corrugated, glass and plastic substrates. Accompanied by a 3.2-mil semi-bleached layflat liner. Ideal for asset and inventory tags, pricing, order picking, work-in-process, shipping and address labels and retail product labels.
  • MACcopyAT (LAS2612): A standard-weight 50# bright white flexible facestock with an all-temperature acrylic adhesive known to perform in cold and damp environments, as well as elevated temperatures (640AT). Used for asset and inventory tags, pricing, order picking, work-in-process, shipping and address labels and retail product labels that require a cold temperature adhesive. Accompanied by a 3.2-mil semi-bleached layflat liner that is laser and flexographic printable and can be used for applications such as automobile window price labels.
  • MACjet (LAS1802): A versatile 50# facestock with a specially formulated, non-ooze permanent acrylic emulsion adhesive (MP910) that virtually eliminates all sheet edge adhesive bleed and the need for matrix stripping. Accompanied by a 2.5-mil layflat liner. Typical applications include address, computer CD/R, file folder, scrapbooking, shipping and receiving, pricing, order picking, routing and retail point-of-sale labels.

All new LAS solutions offer superior opacity and first read scan rates and are designed for excellent image quality and processing in most high-speed, mid-range and continuous-feed toner fusion printers, as well as inkjet printers and copiers. All LAS products can also be flexographic or offset printed.
