The Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer said Pure Performance combines high strength, good printability and packaging material reduction through its 3-ply construction with optimized fiber properties.

Rolf Gustafsson, business segment director containerboard at BillerudKorsnäs, said the company’s modern KM7 board machine produces the range.

He said the top ply contains well distributed short white fibers optimised for printability; the bottom ply has unbleached long fibers for strength; and the middle ply is used to create bulk in order to maximize stiffness and minimise washboarding.

“The 3-ply construction of Pure Performance enables great opportunities to optimize liner strength and to go down one grammage step compared to traditional White top Kraftliner grades on the market. The combination of this superior strength and qualitative printability makes Pure Performance a unique product that offers true sustainability savings and packaging material reduction.”

BillerudKorsnäs said its family of Pure Liners are both produced from 100% primary fibers, sourced from responsible forestry, and meet tough food contact standards.
