The acquisition is expected to help Oliver increase its product offerings and bolster its position as one of the largest independent speciality packaging suppliers in the US.

Speciality packaging solutions provider Oliver has acquired custom folding cartons producer Tap Packaging + Design for an undisclosed price.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Tap Packaging + Design provides custom folding cartons to serve customers in the food and beverage, confection, beauty, consumer goods, and health and wellness sectors.

The acquisition is expected to help Oliver increase its product offerings and bolster its position as one of the largest independent speciality packaging suppliers in the US.

Oliver said that Tap Packaging + Design will keep providing design-forward packaging solutions from its existing manufacturing location.

Oliver president and CEO Dan Rodenbush said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Tap team to the Oliver family. “Their diverse range of capabilities will allow us to expand our product offerings and enhance our overall service for our customers.”

Since 2016, Oliver is said to have made substantial investments in advanced machinery, buildings, and personnel.

The Tap Packaging + Design deal represents the fifth strategic acquisition of Oliver. It is said to be in line with the latter’s goal of being a top supplier of creative, specialist packaging solutions.

Tap Packaging + Design chairman David Chilcote said: “Oliver and Tap Packaging share similar core values, and both companies have a passion for providing an exceptional customer experience.

“Partnering with Oliver increases our capacity, provides redundancy, and allows us to better leverage our combined scale to offer enhanced solutions for our customers.”

Oliver provides customised, quick-turnaround, speciality packaging solutions. It offers a turnkey platform from design to fulfilment, which is claimed to simplify complex requirements with consistent on-time, on-budget, high-quality products and services.
