Albéa Group has signed a deal to acquire Amfora Packaging, a company based in Bogotá, Colombia, with operations also established in Peru. The move allows Albéa to step further into Latin America, strengthening its reach in a region that continues to gain importance in the beauty packaging industry.
Amfora packaging will provide services in plastic packaging for several sectors like cosmetics, pharma, personal care, and fragrance to Albéa.
The collaboration adds weight to Albéa’s activity in categories like colour cosmetics, skincare, personal care and fragrances.
François Tassart, CEO of Albéa Group, said:
“Albéa is taking a proactive step to strengthen its global footprint and complement its existing operations in the US and Mexico. With its strong customer intimacy, Amfora Packaging will give Albéa direct access to key players in the beauty and personal industry, it will help us continue serving at best our international customers, and meet the growing demand for local sourcing.”
Amfora was founded in 2015 under the ownership of ACON. The company was formed by combining two family-owned businesses: Intecplast in Bogotá and Pieriplast in Lima.
Bertrand de la Tour d’Artaise, Senior Vice President, Strategy and M&A at Albéa, added:
“This acquisition is a strong milestone in our ambition to lead the beauty packaging industry across all key geographies. We couldn’t have found a better partner: our two companies share the same passion for customers, a commitment to innovation, and a common DNA rooted in culture, business vision, and social responsibility.”
The acquisition represents a pivotal step in Albéa’s growth across Latin America, strengthening its foothold in a region that’s rapidly becoming a global hub for beauty and personal care.
