The ALPLA Group, a global name in plastic packaging, is expanding in the compression and injection moulding segment after acquiring the production facility of Serbian closure maker Energoplast. The deal strengthens ALPLA’s position as a full-service system provider, delivering high-quality packaging under one roof. With Energoplast’s closure operations now part of the group, ALPLA is widening its reach across South-East Europe while gaining more flexibility and a broader product range in the region.

Packaging specialist ALPLA has now begun operations at the newly acquired facility in Belgrade, where it will expand production of high-quality plastic closures. The acquisition of Energoplast production facility allows ALPLA to reinforce its position within the beverage packaging sector across South-East Europe and the Balkans. The company confirmed that it has taken over Energoplast’s employees, production lines, and existing business, ensuring continuity of operations while addressing rising regional demand for packaging solutions.

“Energoplast’s high-quality portfolio is the perfect addition to our business in the Serbian market and will be further enhanced by our technological expertise in the future. This will enable us to secure supplies for our customers and provide them with immediate added value and strategic advantages in the long term,” said Miroslav Micković, General Manager of ALPLA Serbia.

Energoplast operates a 2,000-square-metre plant in northern Belgrade, producing PE closures for the beverage sector in Serbia and neighbouring countries using compression and injection moulding technology. Following this acquisitionof Energoplast production facility, ALPLA now manages four facilities in Serbia including two on-site at customer filling plants alongside two in Croatia and one in Slovenia. The company ranks among the largest plastic packaging manufacturers in South-East Europe, producing bottles, closures, and containers for food, cosmetics, home care, and lubricants, with PET preforms for the beverage industry as a core product.

“With this strategic move, ALPLA is strengthening its presence in South-East Europe, promoting regional value creation and enabling it to meet growing demand in a targeted manner. This means that both local and international customers benefit equally from high-quality closure solutions and short delivery routes,” stated Rainer Widmar, ALPLA Managing Director Central and Eastern Europe.

The company said the expansion of its compression and injection moulding operations underscores its commitment to innovation and reliability in packaging. “We want to fully leverage our strengths as a system provider and score points with innovative solutions. This enables us to provide first-class, reliable service from design to complete packaging,” explained Michael Feltes, Managing Director of ALPLAinject.

The transaction was finalised on 1 November 2025, following completion of all legal and regulatory procedures. Both parties agreed not to disclose the financial details of the deal.
