Ranpak Holdings Corp. has expanded its collaboration with Medline Industries to scale automation and sustainable packaging across high-volume distribution operations. The Ranpak and Medline partnership focuses on upgrading end-of-line packaging processes to support efficiency and sustainability goals.

As part of the rollout, Medline has installed Ranpakโ€™s Cutโ€™it!โ„ข EVO right-sizing system and Formโ€™it!โ„ข automated case erector. The systems are designed to modernise outbound packaging by increasing throughput, reducing manual handling, and improving consistency across distribution lines. Cutโ€™it!โ„ข EVO automatically resizes shipping cartons to minimise empty space before sealing, while Formโ€™it!โ„ข produces ready-to-pack corrugated boxes from flat blanks at high speed.

At one Medline distribution centre, four Cutโ€™it!โ„ข EVO systems and five Formโ€™it!โ„ข units have been integrated across four outbound lines. This setup allows the facility to process more than 10,000 cartons per day while maintaining flexibility for future expansion. The changes also reduced the siteโ€™s carton assortment from 18 stock-keeping units to four, while improving labour efficiency by removing repetitive manual tasks.

โ€œMedline is a valued leader in healthcare distribution and Ranpak is proud to support its commitment to efficiency and sustainability through our automation technology,โ€ said Bryan Boatner, Ranpakโ€™s Chief Revenue Officer. โ€œThe deployment of the Cutโ€™it!โ„ข EVO and Formโ€™it!โ„ข systems demonstrates how intelligent packaging solutions can meaningfully benefit business and enhance customer experience at scale for customers across sectors and specialties.โ€

โ€œWhen we can get our customers what they need using smaller and more sustainable packages, thatโ€™s a meaningful operational benefit. Using Ranpakโ€™s end-of-line solutions allows us to rightsize our packaging materials while also adopting packaging that uses recyclable paper, increasing the sustainability profile and lowering the shipped volume of our packages while providing convenience for our customers,โ€ said Daniel Schwartz, Vice President of Engineering, Operations at Medline.

The Ranpak and Medline partnership reflects growing demand within healthcare distribution for packaging systems that support speed, accuracy, and environmental performance, as operators modernise networks to handle rising shipment volumes.
