Reusable packaging container (RPC) specialist Ifco has issued a formal Declaration of Conformity to support retailers, producers, and growers in meeting the requirements of the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), alongside food-contact and chemical-safety standards.
Regulatory Documentation and Technical Data Support
From 12 August 2026, packaging manufacturers are required to hold a formal written Declaration of Conformity for every packaging type placed on the European market. To assist business partners through this transition, Ifco has established its documentation structure to deliver the essential technical data and legal statements necessary to support pooling partners and customers throughout their statutory PPWR compliance workflows.
By providing structured data, the enterprise helps organizations maintain operational compliance while managing upcoming regulatory changes designed to decrease overall packaging waste across European commercial networks.

”PPWR introduces mandatory targets to reduce packaging waste across Europe and marks an important step towards a more circular packaging system,” said Ifco chief executive Mike Pooley. “For many companies, regulation brings new complexity. For Ifco customers, it confirms the direction we have been working towards for decades: replacing single-use packaging with reusable solutions,” Pooley stated. He added: “We have already built and scaled the reusable packaging infrastructure the fresh grocery supply chain needs.”
The technical support provided through the Declaration of Conformity ensures that companies operating within the fresh grocery supply chain can address the incoming regulations and implement circular systems effectively ahead of the 2026 mandate.
