ProAmpac has finalised the acquisition of TC Transcontinental Packaging (TCP) from TC Transcontinental in a transaction valued at $1.51bn, marking the completion of a deal that was initially announced in December 2025. TC Transcontinental operates as a flexible packaging company, and the acquisition brings a substantial manufacturing network and workforce into ProAmpac’s portfolio. TCP operates 25 facilities and employs around 3,500 people, providing services that span extrusion, printing, lamination, converting, and recycling across a range of packaging applications.

The business serves several industries, including agriculture, beverages, dairy, meat, and pet food, supplying packaging solutions tailored to the requirements of these sectors. Reflecting on the transaction, TC Transcontinental board executive chair Isabelle Marcoux said: “The closing of the sale of our Packaging business represents a key milestone for TC Transcontinental. I want to thank all our packaging employees for their dedication and engagement in building this business over more than a decade. This transaction will allow us to focus our resources on our retail services and printing and educational publishing activities.”

ProAmpac stated that the integration of TCP’s capabilities is expected to strengthen its manufacturing footprint while aligning with the company’s strategic emphasis on material science and sustainability. By combining TCP’s established production network and technical expertise with ProAmpac’s own innovation initiatives, the company aims to advance the development of new packaging solutions. These efforts include work on barrier films, mono-material structures, and fibre-based formats designed to meet evolving packaging requirements.

The TC Transcontinental Packaging acquisition also expands ProAmpac’s presence in protein packaging, adding technical resources and broadening its reach in the global market. ProAmpac founder, vice-chairman and CEO Greg Tucker said: “Today marks an exciting new chapter for ProAmpac, and we are proud to welcome TCP as an official member of the ProAmpac family. As we integrate TCP’s advanced packaging technologies and talented team into our operations, we are combining complementary strengths to accelerate the delivery of high-performance, increasingly sustainable packaging solutions and further position ProAmpac as a preferred packaging partner worldwide.”
