This year, the Marais Group, a producer, packer and shipper of fresh vegetables, is introducing several innovations in this area. “There is a desire on our part to reduce the use of plastic,” announced the company spokesperson. The trays offered by the group go from 125g for young shoots to 1 kg.

Soon, the Marais Group will start harvesting the early Noirmoutier potatoes. “For this new harvest, we will introduce wooden and cardboard packaging. It is an authentic packaging, in keeping with the values of the Noirmoutier potato, a product with a long tradition.” The first Noirmoutier potatoes will arrive at the end of February.

Besides the Noirmoutier potato, Marais Group offers a wide range of classic Nantes products such as the tomato, leek, celeriac, radish and lamb’s lettuce. The harvest of the Nantes tomato will arrive at the beginning of March. “We are very careful with hygiene standards.” The tomato productions are under integrated biological control and a part of the crop, “100% vert’land”, is without pesticide residue.
