Showcasing TOPPANโ€™s global supply chain and high-value-added packaging at leading international event for the pharmaceutical sector

TOPPAN Inc. (TOPPAN), a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc., will participate for the first time in CPHI Frankfurt 2025, one of the worldโ€™s leading events for pharmaceutical ingredients and the pharmaceutical industry, which will take place from October 28 to 30 in Frankfurt, Germany.

CPHI Frankfurt 2025 is the 36th CPHI event. The showcase is held in a different host city every year and attracted 2,838 companies and more than 58,600 visitors to Milan in 2024.

At this yearโ€™s event, TOPPAN will be displaying a wide range of the TOPPAN Groupโ€™s packaging solutions for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, including polypropylene (PP)-based mono-material lidding material for push-through blister packs1, pharmaceutical inks, transparent high barrier packaging, and sustainable packaging. TOPPANโ€™s high-value-added products respond to diverse needs, from eco-friendliness and advanced barrier performance to streamlining of manufacturing processes.

TOPPANโ€™s booth will introduce the latest healthcare and pharmaceutical packaging technologies from TOPPAN Group manufacturing sites in China, Poland, and other locations around the world, as well as an expanding international network that supports global supply chain capabilities to ensure stable and rapid provision of high-quality pharmaceutical packaging.

TOPPANโ€™s GL BARRIER2 is a brand that enjoys a leading share of the global market for transparent barrier films. The booth will present GL BARRIERโ€™s core proprietary technologies and vertically-integrated supply capabilities connecting film manufacturing to package converting facilities, allowing TOPPAN to flexibly meet the needs of its customers and offer high-quality packaging solutions that contribute to the global pharmaceutical sector.

Main Solutions on Show

  • Mono-material PP lidding material for push-through blister packs

TOPPAN is developing a PP-based film for push-through packs, providing push-through and sealing performance to rival that of aluminum foil. Barrier performance is also enabled by incorporating the TOPPAN Groupโ€™s barrier vapor deposition technology. Combination with a PP sheet for push-through blisters will facilitate mono-material packaging that meets quality requirements for pharmaceutical products in terms of printability and sealing performance.

  • Pharmaceutical inks

Pharmaceutical inksTOPPAN will display samples of tablets printed with high-quality inkjet inks developed and designed by employing the TOPPAN Groupโ€™s advanced material design technologies. In addition to high-definition fine text, two-color and QR code printing are also possible.

  • Transparent high barrier All-PP packaging

TOPPAN will present transparent high barrier ALL-PP mono-material sticks, sachets, and push-through blister outer packaging that use GL-RP, the latest PP-based grade of GL BARRIER.

  • ALL-PO packaging using aluminum-vapor-deposited film produced in-house

TOPPAN will also showcase high barrier ALL-PO (polyolefin) sticks and sachets that use vacuum-metallized oriented polypropylene (VMOPP) film manufactured by India-based Group company TOPPAN Speciality Films Private Limited, facilitating the supply of high-value-added packaging using barrier film produced in-house.

  • Low-adsorption packaging for adhesive patches

The TOPPAN booth will feature packaging with a low-adsorption function for adhesive patches. The use of TOPPANโ€™s proprietary low-adsorption sealant helps to maintain pharmaceutical quality.
